a picture says more than a thousand words...

yes, i am a cat lover. and i love irony, too.
this cute kitty actually advises these bad bad motorcycle gangs not to speed at night (on the then empty expressways and huge streets in midnight neon tokyo) and not to disturb everyones sleep.
why it works: the bad guys all wear suits during the daytime and take the metro (were this poster was photographed(!) )instead of their bike.
once more: i looove japan *

Hallo Studyscape!
Yes, I know these cats clad in school uniforms. In fact, they appeared for the first time around 1970s or 80s for posters and books, and the photos were taken in a studio in Nagoya, Japan. The cats were called "Nameneko" and the project series was called "Namennayo!. For a year or so, the series caused a sensation throughout Japan and many small items bearing these cats were sold in the Japanese market. There were also different series featuring school girls as cafe maedchen etc wearing fancy dresses.
The one appearing now is maybe a copy from the previous ones, and sends the same message as before: bad youngsters riding motorcycles etc.
Auf jeden Fall wuensche ich Ihnen einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr!
